Beautification
The CID's primary beautification efforts involve incorporating natural elements - new trees, planters, and hanging flower baskets - in downtown St. Louis.
This effort consists of improving the physical environment and aesthetics of the CID through additional cleaning, maintenance and landscaping services.
The Downtown St. Louis CID also partnered with a group of organizations and several volunteers to beautify the area from The Arch to City Hall. The planting effort, called Urban Roots, involved a series of planting initiatives. Partners in the Urban Roots project were: The Downtown St. Louis Partnership, Operation Brightside, Flora Conservancy, Gateway Greening, St. Louis Parks Department, City of St. Louis, KMOX personality Charlie Brennan and developer Kevin McGowan.
