Government Affairs
The Government Affairs Committee is responsible for reviewing public policy initiatives and issues which affect or enhance the downtown area as well as downtowns across the state. We act as an advocate for downtown interests by making recommendations through the leadership of organizations, the downtown business community, the City of St. Louis, and the Missouri Downtown Association.
We have successfully defended the Missouri Historic Preservation Tax Credit program and will continue to defend this program which has been the driving force behind development of buildings across the state. We support and advocate local, state and federal issues which help Downtown thrive.
Recently, the Partnership for Downtown St. Louis voted unanimously to support St. Louis County’s ballot measure to restore and expand transit service (Proposition A) and ensure a healthy transit system, which is a critical ingredient to the growth of our Downtown.
