The Downtown St. Louis Partnership presents the Downtown Guides Team. These distinctively uniformed sidewalk greeters and guides travel on foot and bicycles to provide information, hospitality and a warm, friendly environment to those who live, work, shop, play and visit the downtown area. The street greeters are also trained as "additional eyes and ears" for the downtown bicycle and beat officers, as well as the graffiti and clean teams.

In addition to greeting visitors, the Downtown Guides answer questions, give directions, assist customers and report cleaning problems to ComEx Net dispatcher. They also report suspicious activities to the ComEx Net dispatcher and - if need be - to the police. They offer suggestions on dining and shopping and assist in making downtown St. Louis a more fun and enjoyable place to visit and work! They can serve as an escort for an employee of the downtown area who might be working late and may need to get to their car.

Especially during events and conventions downtown, the men and women dressed in gold and black uniforms have been charged with making the stay and visit to downtown as pleasant an experience as you expect it to be! Equipped with Dining and User Guides & Maps, along with radios, the Downtown Guides are trained to be at the beck and call of those in need.
