New Farmers Market, RFT Music Showcase Moves to Downtown, Expanded Taste of St. Louis and Several Other New Events Planned to Encourage St. Louis to “GO TO TOWN”
The Downtown Community Improvement District (CID) is partnering with several event producers to announce an event lineup that will position Downtown St. Louis as the place to be for outdoor music, entertainment, movies, food and more!!!
The announcement includes the launching of a NEW weekly Farmers Market held every Thursday evening (June – October) at the Old Post Office Plaza. The Farmers Market will feature twenty farmers selling locally grown and organic goods. The RFT is moving its Music Showcase to the streets of Washington Avenue, featuring over 50 local bands, two main stages and involving over 10 downtown venues. And, Entertainment St. Louis, producer of the Taste of St. Louis announced the expansion of their event, adding more live music including a full Blues Music Concert Series. They will also partner with the Downtown CID to bring live street performers to Washington Avenue Friday and Saturday nights during the summer. Other events adding to the action packed calendar include:
Downtown Home Tour – April 24, 10 am – 5 pm
RFT Music Showcase – June 5
Downtown Farmers Market – Every Thursday, 4-7 pm (starting June 3 thru October 21)
World Cup Watch Party (multiple downtown locations and Old Post Office Plaza) – June 12 – July 11
Downtown’s Party on the Plaza – Every 3rd Wednesday, 5-8 pm (starting May 19 thru September 22)
Cinema at the Plaza – Every Friday in June and September (starting at dusk)
Lunchtime Concert Series – Every Friday in June and July

These and many more events, including Downtown Restaurant Week, Taste of St. Louis, the St. Louis Public Library’s “Not So Quiet” series, Chess Club Mondays and MADCO performances are planned as part of Downtown’s “GO TO TOWN” Summer Celebration! A full list of events can be found by clicking here.
